Point Barrow is about 320 miles north of the Arctic Circle, and is known by locals as Utqiagvik, which is its Inupiaq name. Amazingly, when the sun sets in Barrow on Nov. 18 or 19, it doesn't rise again for 65 days. That's one dark winter.
