At 663,000 square miles, Alaska covers a lot of territory. From Nome to Fairbanks to Anchorage, our 49th state is a giant playground for the outdoor lover in all of us (as long as you're not there in January!). In this quiz, we'll test your knowledge of our largest and most remote state.
"To the lover of wilderness, Alaska is one of the most wonderful countries in the world," John Muir famously said of Alaska. Of course, Alaska was only a territory until 1959, when it officially became part of the U.S., effectively adding another 20% to our land mass. Alaska is a state of many contrasts, from giant mountains to thick forest to almost full days of sun in the summer and full days of darkness in the winter.
In this Alaska quiz, we'll test your knowledge of our 49th state, from the cities that call this state home to the wildlife that pops up everywhere you look. From the peaks of Denali to the glaciers along the Prince William Sound. Let's go wild!
