What did God despise in Malachi 1 because they were blind, diseased, and injured?

God complained that they offered their worst animals as part of the sacrifice instead of their best. The Law clearly said to bring your best firstborn animals to God and they gave their blind animals, the diseased and injured - more like garage sale animals.
