Awadhi is mainly spoken in present-day Uttar Pradesh, India. Although it's a language on a level with Hindustani linguistically, the state regards it as a dialect of Hindi, and the region in which Awardhi is spoken is considered a "Hindi-language region," due to their cultural closeness.
