An accident born to teenage parents in 1967, Corgan endured a childhood marked by upheaval and trauma. At age four, his parents separated and Billy lived with his mother until she was committed to a mental hospital. He was shuffled between grandparents for a time before moving in with his father and unkind stepmother in their trailer.
