How did the king know Nehemiah struggled with some problem?
Answer Nehemiah had a long face.
The king knew Nehemiah well and could just tell by his face that he was sad. No person would ever presume themselves on to a king or force the matter. The king had to ask naturally. Even then, Nehemiah was afraid of the king.
