God made a promise to Noah and generations to come that he would never flood the earth again when all of humanity rebelled against him. What reminder of that promise did God give for every generation to see and remember?

Rainbows occur in the sky after the rain. They are beautiful, colorful and exciting. God says that he will put the rainbow in the sky to remind him of the promise. Of course, we all know that God won't forget, so the rainbow exists mainly to remind us of his judgment and grace.
