Get paid! Which amendment concerns laws affecting Congressional salaries?
Answer 27th
Representatives who vote to increase or decrease Congressional salaries will have to wait until the next term for those raises to take effect...if they're elected for another term. The amendment's aim is to reduce corruption, as representatives can be voted out of office, never to see the pay increase. Though it was one of the first amendments to be proposed in 1789, the Twenty-Seventh Amendment was the last to be ratified in 1992 after renewed interest.
