You've probably seen the two terms "Sting Ray" and "Stingray" a lot. But do you know what is their difference?

Answer Two words stand for the second gen; one word for the third gen

Back in 1959 Chevrolet had a concept racing car named "Sting Ray". In 1963 they reused the name for their second-generation Corvette. Afterwards, for the third generation, they shortened the name to just "Stingray," which the vehicle kept until 1976.
