Answer Base Camp
Being that there are two main routes to the summit, there are two base camps – one to the south in Nepal, one to the north in Tibet. Nepal's is a bit higher at 17,598 feet, while Tibet's is at 17,056 feet (some sources put it at 16,900 feet).
