You can think of this breed as a mix between a Retriever and a Rottweiler. It is far more unique and uncommon than either of those breeds, however.

The Hovawart is a wonderful pet, although it is energetic and strong and can be hard to handle. If you are looking for a lot of dog, this might be the right breed for you.
