With whom did Ramses II forge one of the world's longest surviving peace treaties?

The ancient Egyptians and the Hittite Empire butted heads over Syrian land for more than two centuries. But in 1259 B.C., that all came to an end. Ramses II drew up the world's first peace treaty on record with the Hittite King Hattusili III, agreeing to stop the bloody fighting and aid each other if invaded.
