Deep Creek Lake is situated in Western Maryland near the popular ski resort of Wisp. In addition to the wintertime activities of skiing and snowboarding, the lake is a popular summer recreational area for water skiing and camping. The lake is a result of the Youghiogheny Hydroelectric Company hydroelectric project that was undertaken in the 1920s.
