Why did Michael Landon have Guy Williams (aka Will Cartwright) fired?

Michael Landon was known for refusing to work alongside actors he saw as more charismatic or better-looking than himself. After Pernell Roberts left, Guy Williams (who starred as Zorro) was brought on as a cousin, Will Cartwright. But Williams only had a five-episode run, as Landon threatened to quit the series.
