Who piloted Apollo 8, the first spacecraft to enter lunar orbit?

As the pilot of the Apollo 8 command module, James Lovell Jr. became the first to enter the Moon's orbit. He's also famous for his part as commander of the Apollo 13 mission. He brought the spacecraft and crew safely back to Earth after it suffered a critical failure en route to the Moon.
