Who is this incredible Puebloan ruin, Montezuma Castle, named after?
Answer An Aztec emperor
The Puebloan Montezuma Castle was built by the Sinagua people. Built around 1100 to 1425 AD, the castle was initially mistaken as the work of the Aztec emperor Montezuma. Wrong. Neither is the dwelling a castle; it's believed to have been more like a five-story apartment complex, composed of around 45 to 60 rooms. Either way, the site is extraordinary to behold.
