Professor Minerva McGonagall is a practitioner of tough love. On the outside, she's tough as nails. On the inside, she cares a great deal for her students, especially Harry Potter, whom she affectionately (for her, anyway) refers to as "Potter". She's also fiercely protective of Hogwarts, leading its students into battle against Voldemort and dueling the Dark Lord one-on-one.
