Although pretty much everything went back to the status quo after the War of 1812, with borders restored and no clear "winner," historians believe there is a clear loser. Native American tribes had fought alongside the British in the hopes to have support against American westward expansion. Instead, the tribes suffered losses and little aid was offered in the forthcoming conflict, leaving the tribes even more vulnerable than before.
