Which type of driveway would be the easiest to maintain in a snowy and cold winter?
Answer Asphalt
Gravel and grass driveways would both be more difficult to maintain in the winter over asphalt and concrete ones. Concrete driveways can buckle or crack in extreme cold situations and the salt used to remove ice can stain the concrete. Asphalt can withstand colder temperatures better than concrete, and snow and ice takes longer to melt on concrete than it does on asphalt.
