Which sultry, gender-bending megastar of Hollywood's golden era was born in Berlin, Germany on December 27, 1901?
Answer Marlene Dietrich
The bisexual beauty was renowned for her romantic appetite and her many, many affairs with both men and women. Marlene Dietrich's stable of lovers included John F. Kennedy and Frank Sinatra, along with actors Gary Cooper, Jimmy Stewart, Jean Gabin, John Wayne, Errol Flynn (and his wife), John Gilbert, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Yul Brynner, and writers George Bernard Shaw, Erich Maria Remarque, Ernest Hemingway and Mercedes de Acosta. Dietrich was a staunch opponent of Nazism. When Hitler's associates asked her to return to Germany in the late 1930s to make films there, Dietrich refused. In retaliation, her films were banned in the country. Dietrich became a U.S. citizen in 1939.
