Cage took home the trophy in 1995 for his portrayal of suicidal alcoholic Ben Sanderson in "Leaving Las Vegas." He himself is named after a superhero, Luke Cage. He named himself that, BTW; his real last name is Coppola, and he didn't want to get special treatment on account of his famous uncle Francis.
