Which holiday celebrates the Maccabees' victory over King Antiochus?

Answer Hanukkah

Jews were forbidden to practice their religion by King Antiochus...that is until the Maccabees saw victory. This is why, for eight nights, the Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah with prayer and the lighting of the nine menorah candles – one candle for each night, along with a "helper" candle. Songs are sung, gifts are exchanged, games are played, and latkes (potato pancakes) are eaten.
