Which country did NOT get involved in the war?

France wasn't the only country to join in. This civil war became a world war, as Spain and the Netherlands also became primary allies with the Americans. Why? Because Britain was a major European power and, thus, their "common enemy". Spain and France also wanted revenge for the Seven Years' War and hoped to be trading partners with America. Of course, it wasn't all self-serving; some actually believed in freedom.
