In addition to the comedic drama, "The Women," which also starred Rosalind Russell, Joan Crawford and Marjorie Maine to name a few, Norma Shearer was a five-time Academy Award nominee and a winner for her performance in "The Divorcee." She didn't have much of a penchant for comedies but lit up the screen in dramatic roles. Shearer was also one of the actresses considered to play the role of Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone with the Wind" but stated she would rather have the role of Rhett Butler.
