Wherever you find a storm becoming a "bombogenesis," you'll also find a really geeked out weatherman. What makes a storm a "bombogenesis"?
Answer Rapid pressure drop
A bombogenesis is also called a "weather bomb". In this type of storm, the core surface pressure drops by at least 24 millibars in 24 hours. It usually occurs in mid-fall to mid-spring when the temperature differences between land and ocean are greater.
