Where is the US territory Guam located?

Guam, an island in the western Pacific Ocean, is located in Micronesia and is geographically the westernmost US territory. The island was captured and occupied by Japan for two and a half years during WWII. Inhabitants suffered extremely cruel treatment during the occupation and were liberated by American forces on July 21, 1944.
