Where is the oldest United States naval shipyard?

The Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia is both the oldest and largest U.S. Navy facility. Originally established as Gosport Shipyard, it was destroyed during the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. In 1862, the shipyard was given its current name, rebuilt and has continued operation into the present day.
