The oldest Japanese beer brand, Sapporo was established in the city of Sapporo in in 1876 by brewer Seibei Nakagawa. Today, Sapporo is still an independent company that operates five breweries in Japan and several others in Canada, the U.S., and Vietnam. Its most famous varieties are the Sapporo Draft and the Yebisu premium Dortmunder lager.
