Allegedly founded in 1383 and first mentioned legally in 1746, Löwenbräu is among the oldest and most established beer breweries in Bavaria and all of Germany. It is one of the six beer suppliers for the Oktoberfest, which means that all of its beer is brewed according to the Bavarian beer purity law from 1516.
