This is the Bay Bridge, connecting the rural Eastern Shore with its ample beaches to the more urban Western Shore, which leads to the DC area. In all, the Bay Bridge over the Chesapeake Bay is more than 4 miles long. On any given weekend in the summer, it's the sight of frequent traffic jams as DC residents head to the beach.
