When the new CD format came around, a new type of portable player was needed to play them on the go. What was the name of Sony's portable CD playing device?
Answer Discman
The Discman, was Sony's portable music player for CDs. The Sony Discman was released in 1984, and didn't initially come with a space for batteries; power packs or battery attachments had to be purchased separately. In 2000, Sony officially rebranded the Discman to have all portable music playing devices under the Walkman name.
