When should you use your headlights?

The majority of states have some type of law requiring daytime headlight use. Eighteen states require it no matter the model. Seven states require it on certain models only, usually allowing older models to get by without one. Many states have a modulating light law, allowing the light to go back and forth between low and high beam, but it must always be used. Only a couple of states have no laws, but it is a good safety guideline to follow regardless.
