When is it safe to go home?

If you have evacuated because of a flood, it is not safe to go home until authorities have determined it to be. There's a number of dangerous things awaiting you should you proceed before authorities deem it safe. This includes the toxicity of remaining waters, possible fire hazards from leaking gases and or fuels, and downed power lines to name a few. If you fail to heed authorities, you may put others in danger.
