When a robot seemingly defies its programming to murder a human being, police investigate and uncover a much darker reality.

Based on the writing of science fiction legend Isaac Asimov, 'I, Robot' uses the author's "three laws of robotics" as a major plot device. Under these guidelines, a robot must not harm or allow a human being to come to any harm through inaction. It must also obey any orders given by humans while also acting in the interest of its own self-preservation.
