“When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw.” What important leader was released from prison in South Africa in 1990?

Answer Nelson Mandela

"A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.” Nelson Mandela lived by his words as the anti-apartheid leader in South Africa. Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years after being sentenced to life for treason and sabotage, amongst other charges. He was freed in 1990 after F.W. de Klerk became the South African president and ordered his release. The pair were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 and, in 1994, Mandela was elected president, serving until 1999.
