Although the Internet was a shared brainchild – an idea that even 19th century Nikola Tesla predicted – Berners-Lee is credited for first putting it to action while he worked at CERN. Initially created to link global institutes, universities, and scientists, allowing them to communicate and share information, now it's more often used to watch cat videos.
