The Brits interfered with American shipping to Europe as they were taking down Napoleon Bonaparte in the early 19th century. So, in June of 1812, the Americans launched an attack on Canada, intending to conquer the British holdings there. Needless to say, they were unsuccessful. As Eric Nicol wrote, "Very little is known about the War of 1812 because the Americans lost it."
