What U.S. political party organized the Hartford Convention to discuss their opposition to the war?

Answer Federalist Party

Toward the end of 1814, leaders from the Federalist party met to discuss their grievances regarding the War of 1812. Primarily composed of New Englanders, the convention in Connecticut complained about the War, the Louisiana Purchase, and parts of the Constitution, even going so far as to suggest New England's succession from the Union. Shortly thereafter, the War ended and the Convention's convictions faded away.
