Sounds kind of overconfident, but U.S. General George Patton was right. He was talking about Fedala, Morrocco when he addressed the USS Swanson crew before leaving port. And on November 8, 1942, Patton led one of three task forces – the Western Task Force – positioned at Fedala. Joining with Fredendall's Centre Task Force and the British-commanded Eastern Task Force, Operation Torch was now in session.
