What two cities in Japan had atomic bombs dropped on them near the end of World War Two?

Answer Hiroshima and Nagasaki

April saw the end of the European war, but the South Pacific war raged on. The Potsdam Declaration drawn up by President Truman called for Japan to surrender; if they did not, "prompt and utter destruction" would follow. True to his word, when Japan refused to surrender, Truman ordered the first (and hopefully the last) atomic bombs to be dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6, 1945, and August 9, 1945, respectively.
