Venus is the nearest planet to the Earth and the second planet from the Sun. It is one of the four inner terrestrial planets and it's sometimes referred to as Earth's twin due to its size and density. Venus, however, is quite different from Earth. It has a thick, poisonous atmosphere composed mostly of carbon dioxide and it is continually enveloped in thick, yellowish clouds of sulfuric acid which cause a greenhouse effect.
