In what phase of the cell cycle does a cell spend the majority of its life?

Interphase is the metabolic or "day life" phase of the cell during which it acquires nutrients and metabolized them, develops and copies its DNA in preparation for mitosis, and performs other "typical" cell operations. A cell will spend most of its life there.
