What is the shape of the Aztec or Mexica calendar?
Answer Circle
The Aztec sun stone is on exhibit at Mexico City’s National Museum of Anthropology. The calendar consists of a 365-day cycle known as xiuhpohualli (year count) and a 260-day cycle known as tonalpohualli (ritual count). Together, these two cycles constitute a 52-year “century,” often known as the “calendar round.”
