What is the name of the empire that ruled primarily over much of northern India and beyond between 1526 and 1857?

The Mughal Empire was created in 1526 by the former Timurid local ruler Babur when he conquered the Punjab region of India from his base in Afghanistan. In the early 1700s, the empire began a slow decline that led to the empire only controlling a small area around the city of Delhi. In 1857 the last Mughal emperor was exiled by the British to Myanmar after his involvement in a mutiny against British rule of India.
