What is the name of the empire originating from Asia Minor that defeated the Byzantine Empire, fought in World War I, and came to an end in 1922?

Answer Ottoman Empire

The Ottoman Empire was founded around the year 1300 by the Turkmen chief Osman I. It quickly expanded and at its height, controlled much of Southeastern Europe, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, the north Mediterranean coast of Africa, and the coasts along the Red Sea. After its involvement in World War I, its remaining territories were divided amongst the British and the French, with the heart of the Ottoman Empire replaced by modern day Turkey.
