Brain Freeze - or sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia - occurs when you drink or eat something very cold too quickly. Essentially it happens when you rapidly change the temperature in the back of the throat where the internal carotid artery meets the anterior cerebral artery. Chaos ensues!
