What is the best location for a shelter in terms of hilly (small hills, not mountains) terrain?

When you are at the bottom, all the cold air will sink in the evening and you are in for a very cold sleep. When you are at the top, you are more exposed to the winds and again run the risk of being very cold. In the middle is the best compromise for the night.
