What does the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) allow for?

Answer Police officers may now carry concealed weapons in all states and the District of Columbia.

The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act was passed in order to allow any and all active duty police officers to conceal-carry a weapon in any state of the union, as well as the District of Columbia. This is a change from former rules that limited an officer to carry a concealed weapon only in his or her state of residence. No person other than law enforcement is allowed to carry a weapon in the District of Columbia.
