The Futura was a concept car manufactured by Ford's Lincoln brand. It was conceived of by Ford's chief stylists Bill Schmidt and John Najjar, and was hand-built in Turin, Italy by Carrozzeria Ghia. The Futura debuted on the car show circuit in 1955 and was transformed into the Batmobile by George Barris.
