As a youngster, George Raft was an avid boxer and also took dancing lessons from his mother. He was focused on establishing a career as a dancer throughout his later adolescent years. He traveled to Hollywood in 1927 to pursue his dream of becoming an actor and two years later made his film debut in the film Queen of the Night Clubs. His career reached new heights with the release of Scarface and Some Like it Hot.
